You weren't meant to do life alone. Choosing and pursuing a life of intention, peace, health, and joy can feel challenging and isolating, so in 2020 I created the Best Today® Community, an online community and safe space to connect with like-minded women who desire to live life intentionally, prioritize their health and well-being, and leverage their time to their advantage as opposed to constantly working against the clock.
Last week we moved our Community to a new and improved platform and are opening the doors for you to join us!
Within the Community you can connect with women from around the world and get the support, community, and answers you need on this journey of intentional living.
You'll also find topics that matter to you ranging from routine, health and wellness, accountability, parenting, books we're reading, and more.
The Best Today® Community also houses the exclusive Life Class course, an intentionally curated curriculum to help you get clear on who you are, what you want, and honor your season of life so that you can live a life of peace, health, and joy one today at a time®.
I am releasing this updated and exclusive material within the Best Today® Community only. If you've wanted help on understanding who you are, what you want, how to allocate your time, what matters most, and how to honor your season of life and more, join the Community today for access to the new and updated Life Class course!
You can access the Community at any time on your computer, phone, or tablet 7 days a week, 24 hours of the day. Once you join you are invited to download the Community app which is user friendly and places you in contact with members worldwide!
You were not mean to do life alone.
Choosing intention, peace, joy, health can be challenging in a world and culture that promotes little to none of the things you seek. Surround yourself with a Community that is here for you and get access to the tools you need for the journey.

"I can't express how valuable it is to be surrounded with like-minded people who can continue to motivate me. I have also never been part of a community with SO much guidance and involvement from the creator. The tools are just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 - Brook S.
I love the fact that I can be a part of a community with like minded woman who are from all over the world, different ages and life circumstances/phases and that we can not only learn a lot from Shunta but also from each other💛 Eunice
The support encouragement, and ideas that you can get only in the community (and so many of the besties are a first-name basis relationship which is incredible)! The fact that you can ask any and every question, get feedback, and express your honest condition in your proactive journey is gold. Emi
I just want to say that life is better together. Although we are miles apart from one another and we may not know each other personally, it is such a joy to be in a community with like minded women. I’m getting so much more accomplished because I’m in community with you all. I love it here. Tiffany A.
I love that it feels like a family. I feel like I know everyone and we’re all in this to be our best selves. I feel like we’re all open to really doing the work. That’s powerful in a community. Toby
]]>I love that this is a safe, brave space for diverse women to grow I can grow at my own pace, bless, fellowship and be blessed with women, continuous resources, trainings, and accountability. It is amazing that we have direct communication with our furious teacher, leader, and sister- Shunta. This is very unique because it is not common to have direct access to owner/instructor/sister, etc. Thank you! La'Chanda T.
Join the Best Today® Community today, your first three days are free!
So today I wanted to give you some guidance and information on how you can support your favorite small businesses, most of what I will share costs you $0.
If the store, business, or website has a way to take reviews, leave a detailed review about why you love the product or resource. If a company does not have a way to submit reviews, email it to them. Reviews are VERY helpful when potential customers are shopping (think of how many times reviews have helped you) this is why the more detailed you can be, the better. There are also many times that stores or other brands look at reviews in deciding whether to work with a company. Your reviews do a world of good so please leave a review of your favorite products or resources.
Instead of (or in addition to) memes and gif sharing with friends, sub in your favorite products, podcast episodes, blog posts, etc... from your favorite small businesses! Share them with the reason you love them, it makes it far more likely that someone will pay attention when there's a story or reason behind a link (same is true when sharing on social media, make it personal). Example. Our customer Jamie texted her sister to explain how the Best Today® Guide has helped her at work and at home and it's why her sister has noticed she's been much more zen lately. She shared with a link (and then went on to order one for her sister which leads to the next thing)...
You don't have to wait for a holiday or birthday to give someone a gift! If there's a product that you love and it's within your means, gift it to a friend and share why you love it or if you've been sharing something with a friend but know they're on the fence or can't afford it at the moment, purchase it for them! Many small businesses will even offer gift wrapping and/or a note. And, if you're shopping in bulk, many small businesses offer bulk prices.
Has a product been really meaningful to you and you have a story to share? Tell the company! I can attest to how often I will pull out those emails or notes left at checkout and read them. I love reading emails about how kind or helpful someone on our team has been for a customer, or how our processes were smooth for you, whatever it is, I imagine the human on the other end of those company emails is thrilled to read kind words! They are fuel to many business owners (and teams) and remind us of why we started this in the first place. Don't underestimate the power of sharing how a company's resources have helped you. It means a lot!
If you sign up for company emails, open and read them. Unsubscribe from those you aren't going to read or don't enjoy. But increasing open rates are helpful in making sure our emails get into your inbox and aren't marked as SPAM. We pay to be able to send you emails and if you're signed up for business emails and let them sit, it could come at a cost to a company (many pay by the number of subscribers. If hundreds or thousands aren't reading emails, we're paying for people who aren't getting what we're paying for--which is to be in communication with customers and subscribers). If you sign up for the emails, please read them. Businesses pay people to draft and schedule the emails and for the software to send the emails, read them or kindly unsubscribe.
Walk into your favorite local stores (and bring a friend when you can) and look around at their inventory, you may discover something new! Visiting and talking to the store owners and staff is encouraging and also shows foot traffic to those who may be walking by. I was in a local store recently and three women came in after me and said "we saw you come in so we decided to come take a look" and they shopped at the store. You never know when out-of- towners are walking by and looking to see what shops to walk into, your visit might spark some traffic.
If you're not on social media, there is no need to join to do this; but, if you're already on social and following your favorite businesses or business owners, engage with their content--comment, like, share (with the reason why you're sharing), save posts. This allows their content to be seen by more people. Social media is an uphill battle and your engagement makes it better.
Would something offered by your favorite business make a great corporate gift that your company can purchase in bulk? Corporate gifts can be used for clients, teams, birthdays, welcome gifts, departure gifts, the list is endless. Share with your company or other business/company leaders that you know.
Spend and invest your dollars into your favorite companies. If you have everything you need, shop for gifts early, purchase gift cards, leave a tip (Most sites now let you leave tips with your purchases during checkout) or try a new product (i.e. love one candle scent from the company, try a new one or stock up on your favorite). Want to support without having things come to your house--purchase their digital resources and again there are gift cards too! Many businesses also have ways that you can support by giving.
These can apply to your favorite online stores, brick and mortar stores, blogs, podcasts, anything and anyone considered a small business. My hope is that you will think of 2-4 of your favorites and find ways to do any number of the above. And, if you've got another way you love to support small businesses or business owners, please share below. We would love to hear from you!
]]>Previewing your month takes a few steps and can help you to get an overview of what is to come and allow you to block time for the people, places, and things that matter most first (note: you are first on that list). We teach the C-TONE method at Best Today®. You can listen to Episode 45 of the Best Today® Podcast to learn more.
I've taught the C-TONE method to thousands of customers. It's a simple way to include everything you need when previewing and planning your months (and weeks). If you'd like a detailed guide walking you through more detail on each step along with mockups, pictures, frequently asked questions and information on how to preview and plan your months, weeks, and days as well, you can download it here.
Clear Your Mind.
Before you begin previewing your upcoming month, get all of the thoughts, ideas, worries and the like out of your mind. I like doing this first so that when I go into previewing my month my mind is clear and I am not feeling weighed down by thoughts and feelings.
Tone.
Define and write out what is most important for you this month, set the tone. What is your primary focus this month and what do you want it to feel like, what matters most in this upcoming month.
O'Clocks.
Write out all of those things that have a time and date associated with them: meetings, appointments, events, deadlines, flights. Write out all of your o'clocks. And do not forget to include time that you block out for yourself: time for rest, play, and anything that is important to you.
Necessary.
What is necessary this month but not an o'clock. Examples of these may be projects you're working on or tasks that need your time and attention.
Evaluate.
Look at what your month looks like as is with the o'clocks and necessary items and evaluate and make adjustments as needed. Do you need to move some things around because a particular week is too full or has conflicts, do you have space to add in some things you've wanted to make space for, etc... This is your time to ensure that your month has the space needed and a flow that works best for you.
If you'd like more explanation and to see examples of C-TONE you can download the detailed manual here.
I talk about this in episode 117 of the Best Today® Podcast you can listen here. I love using my Anytime Today® Journal on the last day of each month to write a goodbye to the month that's gone and on the first day of the month I write a "hello" to the new month to write out my expectations, hopes, feelings and the like.
I've found this to be such a powerful exercise and so have many of the women in the Best Today® audience. Listen to the podcast episode for more details and give it a try! There is not right or wrong way to do it, whatever comes up for you, write it!
On October 19th at 1:00 p.m. eastern I am leading our second workshop in our 3-part workshop series. The October workshop is on the basics of month, weekly, and daily planning giving you alternative ways to plan based on your schedule, season, and capacity. You can join live or get the replay depending on the time you read these words.
Submit your questions before, during, and after the workshop and we will provide you with the help you need to meet you where you are!
As you can see, we take proactive planning and preparation seriously. We know how much it can help you in your day-to-day and big picture.
If you'd like more explanation and to see examples of C-TONE you can download the detailed manual here.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO PREVIEW YOUR WEEK?
Previewing your week is looking over what is to come in your upcoming week before the week begins and documenting what you need so that you can prepare.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO PREVIEW YOUR WEEKS?
Previewing your week offers peace of mind, perspective and information. Peace of mind knowing what is coming up ahead of time and perspective because one you write out what is coming up in your week you see what is versus how you feel. There have been countless of times when I felt as though I had so much coming up but after previewing my week in my Best Today® Guide I saw that it was manageable or that I still had time to prepare for everything that was coming up. It gave me an accurate perspective of what was to come. And lastly, previewing your week gives you information about what is coming up that may lead you to alter, change or cancel some of the things coming up in your week.
THE TOOLS I USE
I use the Best Today® Guide as my monthly, weekly, and daily planning tool. Every week has a two page spread to Clear Your Mind and Preview Your Week.
During weeks where I am traveling or have lighter days (typically summer time and during family trips) I will preview my week with one of the Weekly Planning Pads. They are also a favorite among those who have a daily planner system that works for them or who do not like or keep up with planners altogether.
How to Preview and Plan Your Week
I've taught the C-TONE method to thousands of customers. It's a simple way to include everything you need when previewing and planning your week. If you'd like a detailed guide walking you through more detail on each step along with mockups, pictures, frequently asked questions and information on how to preview and plan your months and days as well, you can download it here.
Clear Your Mind.
Before you begin previewing your week, sit down and get all of the thoughts, ideas, worries and the like out of your mind. I like doing this first so that when I go into previewing my week my mind is clear and I am not feeling weighed down by thoughts and feelings. I add to the Clear Your Mind section in my Best Today® Guide throughout the week as things come up which help me keep track of new results/outcomes that need my attention.
Tone.
Define and write out what is most important for you this week, set the tone. What is your primary focus this week and what do you want this week to feel like, what matters most in this upcoming week. There is designated space to answer this in all of our weekly previews both on the Weekly Planning Pads and Best Today® Guide.
O'Clocks.
Write out all of those things that have a time and date associated with them: meetings, appointments, events, deadlines, flights. Write out all of your o'clocks.
Necessary.
What is necessary in your week but not an o'clock. Examples of these may be your meals for the week, projects you're working on, or tasks that need your time and attention.
Evaluate.
Look at what your week looks like as is with the o'clocks and necessary items and evaluate and make adjustments as needed. Do you need to begin batching things like errands on the same day, meetings on the same day, etc... This is your time to ensure that your week has the space needed and a flow that works best for you.
If you'd like more explanation and to see examples of C-TONE you can download the detailed manual here.

Handwriting is becoming a lost art. There's something about it that slows you down--which is good! We live in a fast paced world with people rushing from one thing to the next. Our minds move even faster thinking about one to-do on to another. Journaling is an invitation to slow down. If you are looking to find stillness and space in your weeks or days, journaling can help you to create a practice that slows you down.
Journaling gives you a space to get it all out, imperfectly and however you need. There is no judgment on the receiving end of the pen. Journaling gives you a place to drop everything and be. Journaling provides you with a way to acknowledge and release feelings, emotions, thoughts, truths, anything that you may be holding onto.
There is something about the relationship between the hand and the mind. The mind releases information to your hand when you are writing in ways unlike when you are typing or even talking. I will never forget the day I was journaling and I wrote something about how I was feeling that I had never said out loud before.
Journaling can help you to unearth the subconscious of what's going on underneath the surface. In writing, your body and mind work together to get out what’s going on inside if you make the space and time and allow it to come to the surface. That is the power of journaling.
There are some truths, feelings, or thoughts our mouths just won't allow us to say or admit on our own. But writing somehow frees that and helps you to uncover what is going on in your head and heart.
If you're trying to process something, journal about it. Write about it. You may find the clarity you've been looking for; which leads me to number four.
If you are an over thinker, please give journaling a try. There is so much clarity in writing as I shared in number 3 above. If you've been looking for clarity about something, try writing about it--how you're feeling, what you know, what's confusing, and you may be surprised at some of the clarity this brings about for you.
Best of all, regardless of what you're writing, journaling is a practice that makes you prioritize yourself. It's a time where you stop and choose to write and be. In a world that is so obsessed with productivity and doing more and more and more, journaling is an act against it to stop and be. Journaling allows you space to be with yourself (even if you're not physically in a room by yourself), and write to benefit your well-being. We need more time and space for being in our lives (we are human beings after all) and journaling is an excellent way to incorporate that into your life.
You don't have to write a best selling novel to be a journal-er. Journaling is simple and does not require overthinking. Just write. Not sure what to write? Choose a prompt. The Anytime Today® Journal gives you four to choose from that give you free rein to explore the containers of your heart and mind--Today I Am, Today I Feel, Today I Need, Today I Want.
Journaling has yielded so many rewards in my life. Through journaling, I've uncovered things about myself and what I was feeling that I wasn't aware of. Journaling has helped me to release frustrations, anger, sadness, elation, joy, excitement and so many other emotions. It is a safe space that allows me to arrive imperfectly and as I am. Journaling can do the same (and more) for you!
The good news is that journaling does not have one look, there are so many ways to journal, you get to make it your own. Whether you write 5 words, 50 words or 500 words, if it's what you needed in that moment, it's right.
If you'd like a simple and effective way to add journaling into your wellness routine the Anytime Today® Journal is a great place to start. There is no pressure to write daily, though you can if you choose. The four prompts, Today I Am, Today I Feel, Today I Need, Today I Want, invite you into the practice so that you don't overthink it.
One customer said it best,
"The Anytime Today™ Journal, gave me the space to talk about me. I don't get that often in my day, no one is asking me what I want, need, or feel, I'm usually taking care of everyone else."
However you start, I want to encourage you to give journaling a try. You are worth making space and time for as often as you need!

We are currently in the middle of the second annual Social Media Reset at Best Today®. During the month of July we log off of social media along with members of the Best Today® Community and audience to start the second half of the year with a deeper focus on the people, places and things that matter most.
This reset is a way to actively push back against the hurried and rushed pace of the world that is aided, in part, by excessive (and unintentional) social media consumption. Regardless of how you use your phone or social media, a break away from it can do you so much good.
So let's talk about some of the alternatives you can choose instead of social media consumption and engagement whenever you're ready to take a break away, or even to use in your day to day to minimize your use of social media (or whatever it is that eats away at your time and distracts you from living with intention each day).
1. Do the things you said you would. It's a simple one. You know that long list of stuff you said you don't have time for. Making one step toward doing those things is a great alternative to picking up your phone to consume social media. For instance, a phone call to find out the hours of operation for the place you want to drop off donations and then scheduling a time. Putting the bag of donations in your car. Taking the donations to the place. Any small step to do the things you said you would is a great place to start.
2. Read a book. The library is one of the best resources that we have available to us and it is FREE! So many books at your fingertips. How would your nervous system respond to more time reading a book versus scrolling on social media each day?
3. Write a book. You have something to say or share with an audience? Start putting pen to paper and write that book!
4. Take a nap. Drool on the pillow is better than dry eye from the constant strolling!
5. Journal. May I recommend the Anytime Today® Journal? Write out your feelings. Are you using social media to numb a pain or avoid a reality. Try writing out what you're feeling, thinking, or experiencing instead of picking up your phone or logging into social media.
6. Go for a walk. Your cardiovascular (and overall) health will thank you. This doesn't mean you have to find the closest walking trail. Wherever you are, get up and walk.
7. Call a friend. Remember those things that we used to pick up and dial a few numbers and talk to a person on the other end? The telephone. Those fancy smartphones still do this! How would a 3 minute call to let someone know you're thinking about them change your day and theirs? Call a friend and be social in real life versus being faux or quasi social on an app.
8. Call a parent or grandparent. If you're one of those people who still have the fortune to be able to call a parent or grandparent, do it. Just to say "hello" or "thank you" or "how are you?" So much better than social. And if you've never had either, replace it with a family member whom you love deeply. Give them all of the love and presence while they're still here to receive it.
9. Write a letter to a friend. How much nicer would it be to write a letter to real life friend, rather than looking at a stranger on the internet. Let's bring back the joy of writing and receiving snail mail. Short on time? A postcard will do!
10. Clean out a cabinet or drawer. 10 minutes in a junk drawer could be therapeutic and a far more intentional use of your time than picking up your phone!
11. Take a pile of things to be donated. You've had that pile sitting in your car, garage or home long enough. Take it to be donated and skip the social media scroll.
12. Make a playlist. I have a playlist for many moods--chill vibes, worship, praise, running, morning, evening, and the list goes on. Feeling some kinda way and about to pick up social media? Make a playlist instead that can be a help to you. And then enjoy it!
13. Clean your fridge or freezer out. As you can see, there are likely many short term projects that you can start or complete in your home which is all the more reason to put your phone away when you enter into your home. And who doesn't love looking at a cleaned out fridge or freezer?
14. Inventory your pantry and/or clean it out. Perform a kitchen sweep and take inventory of what you have so that you can use it. It'll save you some money on your next grocery trip!
15. Bake something. And then eat it or share it with a neighbor or friend (or even an enemy). Baking doesn't require seven ingredients anymore, break and bake cookies can be delicious. My personal favorite thing to do is bake chocolate chip cookies and put a scoop of vanilla in the middle of two for an ice cream sandwich!
16. Clean out your closet. Little closet, big closet, any size, clean it out. Start with getting rid of the things you don't wear or that no longer fit. If you really want to keep things tidy, here's a link to Clean One Room.
17. Stretch. Oh, you need this one. We all do. Stand up and put those arms in the air and stretch left to right. Take some time to stretch wherever you are. You don't even have to sit down to stretch. If you stretched instead of reaching for your phone consistently for one week, your body would feel recognizably better!
18. Drink water. A drinking game that is good for your health. Instead of reaching for your phone reach for a bottle of water and drink up!
19. Do food prep for a meal. Chop some romaine lettuce for your salads or any small step to get ahead on an upcoming meal.
20. Paint. We're all creatives. If we give less weight to the inner critic we would all enjoy the creative nature that we have. Paint something, big or small.
21. Color. Did you know they make adult coloring books? Not that it's needed. But pick up those crayons or color pencils and color!
22. Do a puzzle. Crossword or jigsaw, a puzzle is a great alternative to getting on social media. May I suggest fighting the urge to do the puzzle just to share it on social. It's okay to keep some things just for your enjoyment.
23. Listen to music and close your eyes. Feel the words and just breathe. One song can replace picking up the phone for social media.
24. Knit. If you know how, knit. If you don't, consider giving it a try!
25. Sew something. Have a sewing machine that has gotten dusty? Sew something!
26. Learn something new. There are so many books and even free classes in your community. Learn something new! A new language, how to change a tire, how to tie a tie, how to fold a fitted sheet, how to ride a bike, the options are endless!
27. Sign up for a free lesson at a local gym or pilates venue. Most places in your city offer a free introductory class. This is a great way to see what's out there and if you enjoy it!
28. Treat someone to lunch who can learn from you. Lunch doesn't have to be expensive, people want presence and time.
29. Treat someone to lunch from whom you can learn. See above! And honestly, we can all learn from each other so these two can be interchangeable.
30. Jump rope. Keep a jump rope tucked away and get up and jump jump next time you want to scroll on social!
31. Take a music class. I bet there are music classes offered in your city or a nearby city that you could find and become engaged in that would take less time than your collective time spent on social media!
32. Dance. Get up and move!
33. Meet someone new. Social media hasn't made us more social in the meaning of cultivating meaningful relationships. What if you took the time to meet someone new? At work, at your gym, a new neighbor, the person sitting at the table next to you at the coffee shop?
34. Light a candle and close your eyes and take in the scent. My favorite scent is from a local candle maker and just smelling it does something for me. The scent is calming and it makes me feel like I'm at a open and luxurious spa even as I sit here at my desk typing these words. Light a candle! And if you're somewhere where you can't, they make these great candle lamps that don't burn your candle, or just bring the candle nearby, the best candles share their scent without being burned!
35. Find a local nonprofit in your city that does work you care about and volunteer. There is likely a nonprofit in your city that does meaningful work that can use your head, heart and/or hands. Collectively you could volunteer and still not outdo the time you spend on social media in a week or month. Make the swap!
36. Sit and be comfortable with being and not doing anything. This is my favorite because it requires nothing except you. Be still. And let that feeling become more familiar. Doing this fights against the pace of culture to keep moving, keep doing, and the message that rest is lazy. Your body needs stillness and not just when you're asleep.
My hope is that this list sparked some ideas for you or that you read something that excites you! To join us in the July social media reset go to besttoday.co/reset. If you're reading this outside of July, know that you can choose a reset at anytime of the year.
The gift of the social media reset is awareness of social media's role in your life. Do you notice how often you reach for it? When do you find yourself reaching for it? How do you feel when you're not consuming daily? Who did you miss not seeing on social media, if anyone? Can you decrease who you follow?
Let us know if you decide to do a social media reset. We'd love to hear what you learned and if we can be of any help we're always just an email or text away!
]]>I also have a free download for you that has all 10 questions so that you can keep them nearby, tuck them in your Anytime Today® Journal or Best Today® Guide, or hang them in your office to refer to as often as you need. How do I want to feel in this season?
I love leading with this question because it is the reminder to remember how you want to feel in your body in this season. Writing out this question and writing down what comes up for you over a week is a great way to allow yourself to tap into what it is you want to feel in this season.
What is most important?
Everything cannot be most important. Prioritizing helps us to make decisions. Narrowly define what is most important in this season so that you can use it as a measuring stick for how you will use your time to prioritize and protect it.
What are the fun and/or meaningful opportunities in this new season?
Don't forget to have fun! Even in the hardest seasons there is space for fun and/or meaningful opportunities. What are the things that come up for you? Write them down and then schedule or plan them.
What needs to be pruned so that I can get the most out of the unique opportunities in this season?
Pruning is a necessary skill in living with intention. We live with human limitations like time, resources, energy, etc... What needs to be pruned away in this upcoming season so that you can make space for the opportunities that are ripe in this season and make space for those fun and meaningful opportunities you listed above.
What about this season causes me worry?
Are you walking into this season with any apprehension, have you created any stories about worst case scenarios in this season? Identify what is causing you to worry in this season so that you can address it--is this based on truth? Is this based on living in the future and not the present? Then address the this sub series of questions:
What is beyond my control?
Identify what is beyond your control so that you can remove it from your mental space. What can you control? This is where your focus goes. You control far more than you think.
Who matters most in this season?
No explanation needed here. Who matters, so that you can be intentional in making sure that your choices and time reflect that.
How will I prioritize my well-being in this season?
Your health and well-being is a priority, asking yourself how you need to take care of yourself reminds you to take the steps to do so. What do you need to do to prioritize your mental, emotional, physical well-being? And remember the question about what needs to be pruned to make space for this.
What routines need to be paused or created?
Do you need to pause or create any new routines for what your reality is now?
What truth do I need to cling to throughout this season?
Proactively prepare to equip yourself with truth. What do you need to cling to based on what you know is ahead in this upcoming season?
I share more on these 10 questions in episode 119 of the Best Today® Podcast. You can listen here on our website or here that allows you to listen on multiple platforms. Let me know how these questions help you as you transition into new seasons of your life. Submit your name and email below and we will send you a free download with the ten questions.
]]>Honoring your season of life is a necessary requirement in living your life with intention. Trying to operate outside of your season can be a direct source of frustration.
Instead, get clear on your current season, what it allows, what it requires and what you have capacity for. Understanding and setting seasonal boundaries becomes a beautiful way to honor yourself and your life as it is in this moment.
Looking directly at the sun can be blinding; the same can be said (metaphorically speaking) for keeping your eyes focused on the end result that you want or desire as opposed to looking at where you are right now and focusing on the current step you are on so that it can move you toward your end goal.
Look at what is in front of you instead of becoming overwhelmed by what is to come, what you don't know, what you don't have, how far you have to go, and the many other things that can distract and hinder you (and, of course, frustrate you).
There's a meme floating around Instagram with a picture of Pooh Bear looking at his rather round and large tummy in the mirror with the caption, "waiting to see if that salad I ate this morning is working." This is a great depiction of the way so many people think about their efforts--"if I don't see immediate results then it's not working, it doesn't work for me."
Learn how to appreciate the journey and who you are becoming by your consistent efforts, let that be the gratification can satisfaction for today. Bypassing the journey and the process does not benefit you. Trust that your good and healthy choices will compound and that there is work going on that you cannot see. But if you quit when you're frustrated from not seeing same day results, you will be frustrated until the very end.
At least 85% of the people that I have worked with either in a one-on-one capacity or with group coaching were doing too much by operating outside of their capacity (and sometimes outside of their season). The world that we live in feeds you with distraction and opportunities to add more, do more, try more, go more, sign up for more, and the like. An intentional life requires being highly attuned to yourself so that you can be aware of your capacity and what is most important because chances are you do not have the capacity to do every thing you want to do.
You know who benefits when you operate outside of your capacity? Not you. You know what's more important than receiving a certificate for being everything to everybody? Sleep, rest, stillness, space in your day and in your life for the things that matter most.
Where are the places where you have created the source of your frustration by taking on entirely too much?
My hope is that by bringing these four things to your attention you can identify those which are relevant to you and begin to unravel the ties and knots of frustration you have allowed or created. If you'd like to hear more about these four things and how you can overcome them all, I talk more about these four things in episode 115 of the Best Today® Podcast which you can listen to here on our website or on multiple platforms here.

So here are four ways I have recently used the Clear Your Mind Pads! They have become an almost weekly resource to help me to streamline work and life. I use it, get the benefit and then I toss the paper in the recycling bin and keep it moving.
When I have calls or in person meetings my Clear Your Mind Pad has become the perfect place to write down the important things and then give myself key action items in the "now, next, later" categories. I'll list out key notes on the left hand side and anything that I need to do or delegate is listed in the now, next, later categories. Everything is in one place and I love it!
Recently while car shopping I used my medium size CYM Pad to list out the cars that I found online on the left column and then all the things I needed to do and places I needed to go on the Now, Next, Later columns. It was so helpful to have one place that listed the cars, my thoughts about them, the price and details about each car and then remember things like calling insurance to get the new car added, etc... With one sheet of paper I was able to look at cars and purchase one in less than 4 days and knock out every single additional task that needed to take place before, during and after. Thank you CYM Pad! And because I used the medium I could carry it around with me in my purse which was so helpful!
I used the CYM Pad to plan the details of my daughter's birthday party. As you may have guessed already, I used the Now, Next, Later to list out what needed to be done about 3 weeks out. I kept the tally of the RSVPs on the left hand side and how many donuts I needed to order for the party and for the favors. On one sheet of paper I had everything in one place, I used the medium size again because I wanted it to travel with me so that I could keep tally of RSVP's as they came in and also write things down as they came to my mind.
I explain what my quarterly kitchen sweep is in episode 15 of the Best Today® Podcast. The short version is I go through my pantry and deep freezer and take inventory so that we can eat what we have. This saves us so much money and prevents food from going bad or being overlooked month after month, week after week. Once a quarter works for me but you can do a kitchen sweep as often as you'd like.
I normally do this one a blank notepad but the Clear Your Mind Pad worked even better because after I did the inventory of food on the left column, I was able to plan out meals based on what we had for the upcoming weeks in the Now, Next and Later columns.
Working through the details of an upcoming trip? As I was considering the prices of different hotels, resorts or air b&b's along with park ticket pricing I used the CYM pad so that I could see all prices in one place to compare and make decisions. I was able to list out the pros and cons for different resorts and make a decision once I saw everything in one place! The CYM wins time and time again!
Hopefully this gets your wheels turning and you're thinking of the many ways that you can use the Clear Your Mind Pads to help you streamline things at work or at home and anywhere in between! Clear Your Mind Pads come in two sizes, large and medium and you can bundle both and save. Click here to order yours!

]]>Consistency is one of the most necessary and vital attributes in living a life of intention and it is at the foundation of healthy living. Why? Because the things that are important to your well-being and intentionality require repetition, require you being so committed to the things that are important that it shows in your choices and actions day after day, after day, after day, after day, after day.
Having worked with and helped thousands of humans over the last decade, I know that healthy consistency is a challenge and struggle for many. Consistency requires effort, it requires a belief that you are worth the effort it takes, and it requires understanding who you are, what you want and understanding of the season of life you are in.
Oftentimes we take on too many things and too much. We overwhelm our capacity and we accept that this is just how life is supposed to be. Believing this narrative does not benefit you, your life, or the things and people that you love.
Wherever you fall on the consistency scale, the good news is that your consistency muscles can be strengthened. You can be consistent in the things that matter to you. You can make small daily deposits into your well-being and that is why we are dedicating the month of May to working alongside you in a 31 day Consistency Challenge.
For the month of May we are inviting you to join us by committing to do ONE thing consistently for 31 days. You get to decide. My suggestion is that your one thing be something small, something meaningful to you, and something that you can do based on your circumstances for May. If you are traveling, for example, choose something that you can do while traveling.
On Thursday, April 27th we will host our kick off call to answer any questions you have, share what you're going to focus on for May, and I will talk to you about how to get started. The link for the call is in your welcome email after you sign up here.
Every Sunday in May you will receive an accountability email to report how things are going for you.
On Tuesday, June 6th we will have a celebration call to celebrate your diligence, effort, and growth and we'll hand out some prizes and awards too!
To join and download your Consistency Chart click here or go to besttoday.co/consistency.
Choose ONE thing that you want to do consistently for 31 days. Something you've been wanting to build consistency with (planning your days the day before, time for reflection every morning or night, stretching, reading a book, the options are limitless!) or perhaps something you've wanted to incorporate in your days to infuse more intention, joy, or well-being!
Consistency is a muscle that you can strengthen. So many times we look for shortcuts, for tips and tricks and hacks, but those do not require consistency. They're one- off things that give you an instant dopamine hit and then leave you in the same state (sometimes worse) than where you began. The life you want will be built on consistency, not hacks and short-lived tips.
The life you want will be built on consistency, not hacks and short-lived tips.
I cannot teach intentional living without consistency.
I cannot teach you to be proactive and intentional with your time without consistency.
Let's strengthen your consistency muscle together in May!

As the weather gets warmer and you find yourself with days off or away from your normal schedule, here are a few Best Today® resources that can travel along with you when you still need to plan!
I previewed my week using the Clear Your Mind Weekly Planning Pad (previewing my week is a non-negotiable regardless of how irregular an upcoming week may be). Even though I wasn't on a normal weekly schedule there were things that I wanted to see ahead of time each week.
I used the Clear Your Mind Weekly Planning Pad to preview my week so that I could see what we had laid out for travel and spring break and still have room to write out other things in the clear your mind space.
For the majority of days I used the small sized Results and Outcomes Pad because it was small enough to carry with me and I didn't need a lot of space to write because the days were pretty event based.
For example, the day we went on a hike I didn't have much I needed to do once we left for our hike so the focus of my planning was on what I wanted to do in the morning before and the evening when we returned. The rest of the day was free flowing and included a hike, bowling and dinner with friends.
There was one day where I worked about 5 hours and the very best planning tool for a day of working for me is the Best Today® Guide, I didn't want to use the Best Today® Guide for one page only so I turned to the Daily Plan Pad. So glad this exists! I was able to have the same system I'm used to from the Best Today® Guide but in one sheet of paper.
If you're a Best Today® Guide user or want to try out our daily planning system, the My Daily Plan Pad is the way to go! It's also great if you want to plan your days in a way that doesn't involve listing out to-do's from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m and want to incorporate routine, well-being and only necessary results and outcomes in your days. You can order the My Daily Plan Pad here.
I've also created a quiz here to help you decide which planning resources are best for you to begin with, you can take that here.

What is the Anytime Today™️ Journal?
The short answer: the Anytime Today™ journal is a simple and effective way to check in with yourself at any time in writing.
The Anytime Today™️ journal has four prompts for you to choose from:
Today I Am
Today I Feel
Today I Need
Today I Want
These four prompts call you inward and invite you to slow down at any time in any day (or night) to honor yourself, check in and reflect.
Why these four prompts?
In a world that pushes you to move at a fast pace, these four prompts slow you down and call you inward. How are you today? What are you feeling? What do you need? What do you want? As you begin thinking and writing through these prompts, you will uncover more about yourself and build consistency with listening to your voice as opposed to the outward opinions and voices of others. That is why these four prompts are so powerful.
You are worthy of the space made for exploration, uncovering, release, and the many other benefits of journaling within the pages of the Anytime Today™ Journal.
How often do you write in your Anytime Today™️ Journal?
The short answer: journal inside as often as you want or need.
Within the pages of the Anytime Today™️ Journal you will discover an effective and sustainable way to honor yourself, check in and reflect as often as you need with no pressure to write daily, but also the freedom to do so if that is what you want or need.
You can write in the morning.
You can write in the evening.
You can write during the day.
You can write daily.
You can write sporadically.
You can write multiple times a day.
The most successful use of the Anytime Today™ Journal is making it your own and using it to meet your needs one today at a time™. There is no need to wait for the “perfect” words or pens. Start where you are, as you are, with what you have.
Why did I create the Anytime Today™ Journal?
I created the Anytime Today™ Journal to draw a world of women away from the distractions of this world. It is so easy to lose sight of who you are, what you want, and what you need when there are constant messages telling you who you should be, what you should want, how you should feel, and the list goes on. Getting clear on who you are and what you want requires stillness, slowness and moving to a different beat than the one orchestrated in the background of the culture that we live in.
Checking in with yourself can come in a variety of forms, but one of the simplest ways comes from responding to four prompts: today I am, today I feel, today I need, today I want. So simple. So powerful. Especially when you allow yourself to do this checkin consistently and as often as you need without judgment.
My hope is that with consistent use of the Anytime Today™ Journal, you will find yourself asking these questions throughout your daily life. For example, when the pressure of comparison creeps in, you will acknowledge it and pause to ask yourself, is this what I want? Does this matter to me? Is this what I need? Does this align with who I am? Moving from potentially unhealthy behaviors to healthy thought processes that benefit your life.
In early 2022 I surveyed our audience and the vast majority (63%) said that they did not journal consistently but would like to; they needed a way to get started that was low pressure and provided guidance. The Anytime Today journal is my response to meet the needs of the women for whom I create.
What else is inside?
The bulk of the journal are your prompt pages which also include space at the top to circle the date and write the time.
Inside you’ll also find affirming reminders to encourage you and remind you of your inherent worthiness and capability.
I am so excited to introduce a simple, effective and sustainable way to journal and honor yourself. I have consistently found in my own personal journaling that writing reveals things that I didn’t know I was thinking or feeling.
I want this journal to be an invitation to make space and time for yourself– at work, at home, in your car, on your lunch break, after dinner, during your quiet time, on vacation, wherever you are, and at any time, the Anytime Today™ Journal is here for you.
Sized to make it easy to travel along with you, the Anytime Today™️ Journal is going to be your new favorite item!
My offering to you with the Anytime Today™️ Journal is stillness, self-awareness, introspection, worthiness, recognition, freedom, intention, exploration, release, ease, uncovering, honesty, care, time and love.
The Anytime Today™️ Journal will be available for pre-order on Tuesday, March 7th at NOON EASTERN TIME right here at besttoday.co and will begin shipping in late March 2023.
Please plan to pre-order on March 7th, not only does it help us to be able to ship immediately when they arrive to keep room in our limited office space but it also helps us to continue growing and offering new products. Pre-orders matter to small businesses and I ask that you plan to order the Anytime Today™ Journal for you, a friend, your sister, your cousin, your mom, your work bestie, and your neighbor on March 7th at 12 p.m. eastern.

We've made Week to Day bundles that include (1)one Weekly Preview pad of your choice (2) One Today's Results & Outcomes pad or My Daily Plan Pad and (3) the How to Preview Your Months, Weeks & Days manual. The three of these together give you the tools you need to consistently and sustainably plan your weeks and days!
]]>I've also taught this practice to corporate clients and small business owners and it is consistently reported back to me as one of the most helpful things for them. So, today I want to share why and how to make clearing your mind an effective practice that you make work for you, where you are based on your needs, personality and season of life.
And, to make it easier, I've also created the Clear Your Mind pad to give you one place to successfully clear your mind!
First, what does it mean to clear your mind? Is it just a brain dump?
Clearing your mind is the practice of writing down everything that is currently residing in your mind. No category is off limits--work, life, dates, things you've been meaning to do, things you want to do, whatever is in your mind. You operate best when your mind is clear to allow you to focus on the present thing. This is why we clear our minds before previewing and planning our months and weeks, so that we go into the planning process with a clear mind but also aware of what was residing in our minds. The list now lives on paper and not in our heads.
Clearing your mind, however, as a practice is not a simple brain dump where you write and then let it stop there. The clear your mind practice allows you to now review what you've written and then categorize it: now, next, later. You can also decide if anything on that list is "never." You won't get to it, give it any of your capacity or energy or resources, and it can end there.
One important thing to note: CLEARING YOUR MIND IS NOT MAKING A 'TO DO' LIST. Say that out loud with me please, "clearing your mind is NOT making a 'to do' list. You don't need a to do list to function with intentionality. You do need an understanding of what matters, what you have capacity for and what you will prioritize (and this includes things that don't tend make "to do" lists like movement, rest, nourishment, community, time with self, etc...)
How often do you do this practice of clearing your mind?
There are many ways to use this clear your mind practice, so you will do this in a way that meets your needs. But there are two times when you will make this a practice that I've already alluded to.
Previewing Your Month and Week.
Once you're done you place the items where they belong: within the month or week as needed or make plans to add them to "later" and note when "later" is.
At the end of the month or week you discard that Clear Your Mind sheet and start a new sheet.
Other Ideas
We've made clearing your mind easy with our new Clear Your Mind Pad that provides you with two sizes of sheets, both with 50 pages.
Clearing Your Mind is a great first step in well, clearing your mind. And then deciding what you will do with each thing on your Clear Your Mind pad. This could look like delegating something to someone else, scheduling it, putting it within your week, deciding it's not a priority and removing it from your list you've created or deciding to take action on it immediately.
I want to hear how you will use the Clear Your Mind practice and the Clear Your Mind Pad to aid in your life! Share with us in the comments, in the Best Today® Community or text us at 404-737-1002! We're thrilled to see how you use this practice to allow your mind to function without the weight of so many open tabs!

]]>The Today's Results & Outcomes Pad is your one place to intentionally plan and capture what matters most in your days.
In one place you can plan out and list:
Planning your days is a non-negotiable in intentional living so I created this tool to give you one place to track all that goes on in your day--the things that are necessary, the things that come up that you need to make note of to do in the future, hurdles, distractions, issues, and/or questions that come up in your day (i.e. find out why...., A/C didn't work this morning on the way out the door, etc...) and finally a place to write down things that come up during the day that you need to add to your calendar.
At the end of the day you have your snapshot all in one place. And, because everyone is different and has different needs the Results & Outcomes Pad comes in THREE sizes to choose from.
With 50 pages in all three sizes and the option to subscribe so that we automatically ship your next Pad before your current Pad runs you, you're set to win each day with intention!
I use the small on most weekends when I'm not as stationary as I am during the week (i.e. mostly in my office or at home at the end of the day). I take my small Results & Outcome Pad with me in my purse or carry it with me as I run errands to keep track of everything in one place.
Because I know you'll likely want to use different sizes for different days, I included a bundle that includes one of each size! Share them with the people in your home or bundle and share or keep them all for yourself! You get to decide.
The Daily Plan Pad comes right out of the Best Today® Guide and is the one place to plan your days with ease and intention. We've had many customers say they wish they could have the Daily Planning Page from the Best Today® Guide and well, wish granted!
In one place you can plan your:
and more! The Daily Plan pad is 8.5" x 11" in size and contains 50 pages.
And, to make your life easier we've added a subscribe option that allows you to automatically receive a new Daily Plan Pad before your current Pad runs out! Being proactive has never been so easy!
I created the Daily Plan Pad because this pad reflects the MEWON method that I teach when it comes to planning your days. It allows you to proactively plan for how you will begin and end your day as well as how you will prioritize your mental, emotional and physical well-being daily.
I'm so excited for this product to be in your hands and a part of your life! I've introduced clearing your mind in the Best Today® Guide, Clear Your Mind Weekly Preview Pads and in the Manual that teaches how to preview and plan your months, weeks and days and I also teach this practice in my corporate trainings. When I saw the feedback and success stories of how much Clearing Your Mind has helped thousands of you worldwide I knew I had to create the Clear Your Mind Pad to help you to do just that--clear your mind.
The purpose of the CYM Pads is to give you one place to clear your mind so that your thoughts can live in one place (you can use them just as you would No More Distraction stickies as well).
Use this practice daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly to give your thoughts and ideas that randomly come up throughout the day one place to live. Categorize them as something that needs to be addressed "now, next or later" or maybe you'll realize that some items will be "never" and that you can scratch them off entirely.
The point is to clear your mind of the errands, chores, ideas, birthdays, thoughts, grocery items and the like so that you can flow through your days with less weight and more peace of mind. Once you've completed items on your Clear Your Mind pads or moved them to your weekly preview or daily plans scratch them out or start a fresh clean Clear Your Mind sheet with only what remains.
Use this practice as often as helps you, make it your own. There is more than one right way to use the Clear Your Mind Pads because our lives are all so unique.
The Clear Your Mind Pads come in two sizes and both sizes have 50 pages:
Want both sizes? We also include a bundle option for you to receive one of each size!
All three new products flow harmoniously with our current collection of products and resources to help you be proactive and intentional with your time. Whether you're pairing your Results & Outcomes Pad with the Weekly Preview Pads or using your Best Today® Guide alongside the Clear Your Mind Pad or any other mixture, we are thrilled to provide these new resources to help you right where you are in your every day lives.
All three products will be available on Wednesday, January 4th at 10:00 a.m. eastern.

I've also included a video below that provides a side-by-side comparison of the original Best Today® Guide with the updated version to ensure every question you have is answered! Let's get started.
Similar to the "Getting Started" pages in the original Best Today® Guide, the updated includes two big picture pages and four pages that allow you to narrow your focus to the next 14 weeks (the Best Today® Guide covers 14 weeks). Within those pages you will turn your focus on what is most important over the upcoming 14 weeks working through the designated "The Next 14 Weeks" pages.
My favorite addition to this section is the "Wins, Memories & Lessons" page to allow you to keep track of the memories that can easily fade away when we don't write and recall them. You'll be amazed how many memories, wins and lessons you experience within 14 weeks!
I also included a monthly breakdown so that you can see what is coming up in each month or list out the things that need to be done each month.
The new starting pages set you up to optimize your time and focus on what's most important. I'm so excited about this new addition!
To give you more space for your weekly preview and planning the "No More Distractions" box has been moved to the Clear Your Mind page and the Clear Your Mind page gives you even more space for clearing your mind each week.
This shift provides you with more planning space to C-TONE your weeks!
The updated Daily planning page now has a designated space for your evening/end of the day routine and breaks out the wellness breakdown so that you have separate spaces to write out what you will do for your mental, emotional and physical well-being each day.
The morning practice page now has space for you to write out each morning "what matters today" and "what does not matter today." I've loved using these two new sections each day to remind myself of what matters and what does not to ensure that I don't expend any time, energy or resources to the things that do not matter in each specific day. You're going to love how this helps to narrow your focus each day so that you can live it intentionally!
And the final update is the addition of review pages at the end of your 14 weeks in the Best Today® Guide to give you time to review before beginning your next Guide. You have space to review what worked, celebrate your wins and reflect in a way that will make starting your next Guide far more intentional and purposeful.
Let's take a closer look at the new updates side-by-side with the original Best Today® Guide. The intention and overall process has not changed, the updates allow you to use the Best Today® Guide as the one place that houses the specifics of what matters most in your months, weeks and days.
I'm so excited to get it into your hands! Join me on December 27th at NOON eastern for a live class walking through the updated Best Today® Guide. The class is free with your order of the updated Best Today® Guide and for all Best Today® Guide subscribers.

]]>On Friday of the 2022 Essence Festival of Culture, I joined Essence editor Victoria Uwumarogie on stage at the Wellness House to talk about what it means to be intentional with your time and your life.
The theme for Day 1 in the Wellness House was "Dismantling the Superwomen Complex" and I was thrilled to speak on this topic because how we spend our time is a reflection of how we feel and think about ourselves (pause and read that again).
In a world obsessed with productivity I run for every chance I get to share a different message. A message of intentionality. A message to remind women (and anyone else who wants to listen) that we are not what we do and we are far more than the roles and titles we hold. I am determined to help to create a world where our humanity is at the forefront, where we are able to value rest (while awake) and moving slow and steady with consistency (like the wise tortoise who beat the hare).
Following my time on stage I then moved into the round room for a workshop/conversation discussion on how proaction and intentionality are key principles in time management. It was a joy to be in conversation with the women in the room and to hear their stories of overcoming (or striving to overcome) the superwoman complex so that they can embrace their humanity in their daily lives.
We discussed boundaries, routine and the role of awareness and self-love in time management to name a few. I am grateful for the opportunity to speak on these topics every chance that I get as I strive to be a resounding voice to change the way that women plan and live out their days!
